Job Description

Job Summary:

The Ultrasound Technologist performs diagnostic ultrasound examinations, providing technical support to radiologists and ensuring optimal image quality. They also maintain ultrasound equipment and assist in departmental operations to support patient care.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and position patients for ultrasound examinations following established protocols.
• Operate, adjust, and maintain ultrasound equipment, ensuring safety and functionality.
• Capture and transfer diagnostic images to PACS and physicians' workstations.
• Assist in training and mentoring new Ultrasound staff members.
• Manage supplies and ensure readiness of all necessary materials.
• Schedule examinations, answer phone inquiries, and coordinate patient transportation as needed.

Qualifications:

• Hold an American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) certification as a Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS).
• Possess at least 2 years of experience as an Ultrasound Technologist.
• Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with office administrative practices.
• Exhibit strong problem-solving, decision-making, and communication skills.
• Show exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, and discretion.
• Hold an Associates Degree in Diagnostic Medical Technology or a High School diploma/G.E.D. with successful completion of an accredited ultrasound training program.
