The Human Resources Generalist plays a key role in supporting our employees and leaders by providing professional HR guidance, promoting employee engagement, and ensuring compliance with company policies and employment regulations while helping drive our people strategy across the organization. - Serve as the primary point of contact for employee questions, concerns, and workplace issues.
- Partner with managers to address employee relations matters, performance concerns, coaching opportunities, and disciplinary actions.
- Conduct workplace investigations, document findings, and provide recommendations for resolution.
- Maintain accurate and confidential employee records and documentation.
- Promote employee engagement initiatives and foster a positive workplace culture.
- Coordinate and manage full-cycle recruitment activities for assigned positions.
- Partner with hiring managers to develop job descriptions and recruitment strategies.
- Conduct candidate screenings, interviews, and reference checks.
- Coordinate onboarding activities to ensure a smooth transition for new employees.
- Facilitate new hire orientation and training.
- Assist managers with performance evaluations, coaching, and development plans.
- Support the annual performance review process.
- Provide guidance on corrective actions and performance improvement plans.
- Monitor employee development and training needs.
- Assist employees with benefit enrollment and benefit-related questions.
- Coordinate annual open enrollment activities.
- Administer leave programs including FMLA, Washington Paid Family and Medical Leave, ADA accommodations, and other company leave programs.
- Maintain accurate benefit and leave records.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Assist in developing, updating, and communicating HR policies and procedures.
- Support audits and compliance with reporting requirements.
- Maintain personnel files and HR documentation in accordance with company policies and legal requirements.
- Maintain employee records within the Human Resources Information System (HRIS).
- Process employee status changes, promotions, transfers, and terminations.
- Generate HR reports and metrics to support business decisions.
- Assist with payroll-related activities and data audits as needed.
- Coordinate employee training programs and professional development opportunities.
- Support leadership development initiatives.
- Assist in creating and delivering training materials.
- Track training completion and compliance requirements.
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of Human Resources experience required.
- Experience in employee relations, recruitment, and compliance.
- Manufacturing experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of federal and Washington State employment laws.
- Knowledge of FMLA, ADA, FLSA, EEO, and Washington Paid Family and Medical Leave.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and conflict-resolution skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HRIS systems.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP certification preferred.
- Experience supporting multi-site operations.
- Experience in manufacturing, food production, or industrial environments is preferred.
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, and use standard office equipment.
- Occasional travel to company locations may be required.
- Ability to lift to 20 pounds occasionally.
