POSITION SUMMARY

The Controller, reporting directly to the CFO, is responsible for driving the efficiency, accuracy, and impact of the Accounting & Finance function. This role oversees the Company's accounting operations, including the preparation of GAAP-compliant financial statements. The Controller will strengthen internal controls, streamline reporting processes, and enhance documentation of core financial functions. This position follows a hybrid work schedule, with regular in-person attendance required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Oversee all financial activities, including accounting operations and preparation of accrual- and GAAP-basis financial statements. Ensure timely, accurate month-end and year-end close processes, including creation and posting of prepaid and accrual journal entries. Partner with Human Resources to ensure accurate payroll processing and compliance with state tax laws. Guide and support the accounting team in applying sound accounting principles and industry best practices. Maintain and recommend internal financial controls and clear separation of duties to safeguard assets, enforce policies, and optimize workflows. Manage the budgeting and forecasting process, tracking key performance metrics. Ensure accurate accrual accounting allocations, complete all account reconciliations, and oversee accounts payable, revenue tracking, and accounts receivable management. Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, efficiencies, and cost-saving opportunities. Coordinate with external accountants and support annual tax and audit processes (including income tax, sales tax, workers' compensation, 401(k), and compliance requirements). Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal reporting requirements, including tax filings (sales and payroll) and annual census submissions. Support the department in meeting critical deadlines and achieving organizational objectives. Evaluate and recommend process improvements to increase operational efficiency and financial accuracy. Perform other related duties as assigned.

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION

Bachelor's degree in accounting, CPA preferred
