Handyman / Apartment Maintenance Technician

Job Type: Full-Time

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM

Location: Multiple Apartment Communities

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Handyman / Apartment Maintenance Technician to perform general repairs, preventive maintenance, unit turns, and property upkeep. This role is ideal for someone with hands-on experience in apartment maintenance, construction, or facilities maintenance who takes pride in delivering quality work and excellent customer service.

Responsibilities

• Complete maintenance repairs in apartment homes and common areas
• Perform carpentry, drywall, painting, flooring, and general handyman tasks
• Troubleshoot and repair plumbing fixtures, appliances, locks, doors, and minor electrical issues
• Assist with renovations, remodels, and capital improvement projects
• Conduct inspections and preventive maintenance
• Maintain grounds, landscaping, and exterior appearance of properties
• Clean common areas and assist with trash and recycling management
• Document work orders, inspections, and maintenance activities
• Coordinate with vendors and property management teams
• Participate in an on-call rotation for emergency maintenance needs
• Maintain safe and organized work areas

Requirements

• 2+ years of apartment maintenance, handyman, construction, or facilities maintenance experience
• Knowledge of carpentry, drywall, painting, plumbing, and basic electrical repairs
• Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks
• Reliable transportation and valid Washington State driver's license
• Basic computer and communication skills
• Ability to lift, carry, climb ladders, and perform physical work indoors and outdoors

Preferred Qualifications

• Multifamily housing maintenance experience
• Washington State 07-B Residential Electrical Maintenance Certification
• Apartment maintenance or trade certifications

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Seattle, WA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.
