Software Engineer 2 (Potential for Telework)

Responsibilities Analyze user’s requirements, concept of operations documents, and high-level system architecture to develop system requirements specifications. Analyze system requirements and lead design and development activities. Guide users in formulating requirements, advise alternative approaches and conduct feasibility studies. Provide technical leadership for the integration of requirements, design, and technology. Incorporate new plans, designs, and systems into ongoing operations. Develop technical documentation. Develop system architecture and system design documentation. Guide system development and implementation planning through assessment and preparation of system engineering management plans and system integration and test plans. Interact with the Government regarding Systems Engineering technical considerations and for associated problems, issues, or conflicts. Assume ultimate responsibility for the technical integrity of work performed and deliverables associated with the Systems Engineering. Communicate with other program personnel, government overseers, and senior executives. Security Clearance Due to federal contract requirements, United States citizenship and position-appropriate security clearance are required (e.g. Active TS/SCI security clearance with agency appropriate polygraph). Required Qualifications Level 1 Seven (7) years experience as a Systems Engineer in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required. Bachelor’s degree in System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required. Five (5) years of additional Systems Engineering experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree. Level 2 Fourteen (14) years experience as a Systems Engineer in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required. Bachelor’s degree in System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required. Five (5) years of additional Systems Engineering experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree. Employees receive two complementary branded clothing orders annually. $34.96 – $119.86 per hour (pre-benefit gross wage amounts). Hourly pay rates serve as a general guideline and are not a guarantee of compensation.
