• Managing and tracking equipment, property, and supplies from acquisition through disposal.
• Maintaining inventory records, conducts inventories, and adjusts supply levels as needed.
• Coordinating office moves, equipment acquisitions, and property utilization activities.
• Advising staff on property procedures and resolves inventory and equipment accountability issues

Applicants must meet the required qualification requirements described below by the closing date of the announcement. If you are qualifying based on education or if there are mandatory education requirements listed below, you MUST submit a copy of your college transcripts with your application.

Applicants applying for the GS-09 must meet one of the following requirements:

A. Have at least one full year of specialized experience that is at least equivalent to work performed at the GS-07 grade level and your experience includes performing at least two of the tasks below as part of your regular duties. Specialized experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Qualifying experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Managing and coordinating inventory management and equipment accountability programs involving the acquisition, receipt, identification, utilization, inventory control, transfer, maintenance, and disposition of property and supplies; maintaining automated inventory and property records; 2) Conducting physical inventories; and ensuring assets are properly accounted for, protected, and used in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, and policies; 3) Identifying weaknesses and potential problem areas; improving equipment visibility; and preparing reports, inventories, statistical analyses, and other data to support inventory management programs and management decisions; and 4) Providing technical guidance and advising management and staff on the interpretation and application of established property, supply, and inventory management policies and procedures.

B. Education: Have a Master's or equivalent graduate degree -or- two (2) full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree; or LL.B. or J.D., if related.

C. Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages.

Applicants applying for the GS-11 must meet one of the following requirements:

A. Qualifying experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Managing and coordinating inventory management and equipment accountability programs involving the acquisition, receipt, identification, utilization, inventory control, transfer, maintenance, and disposition of property and supplies; maintaining automated inventory and property records; 2) Conducting physical inventories; and ensuring assets are properly accounted for, protected, and used in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, and policies; 3) Independently coordinating administrative activities involving supplies, property, equipment, and office moves, assessing property utilization, resolving issues associated with leased or owned property, and coordinating established procedures to support unusual or changing organizational requirements; and 4) Providing technical guidance and advising management and staff on the interpretation and application of established property, supply, and inventory management policies and procedures; consolidating and presenting inventory-related data and information; maintaining databases; providing briefings on established inventory matters; and serving as a liaison with property and supply organizations to resolve equipment accountability and inventory management issues.

B. Education: Have a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree -or- three (3) full academic years of graduate level education leading to such a degree; or LL.M., if related.

OR

C. Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.
