You are responsible for the overall maintenance and upkeep of the building and its equipment, including performing preventative maintenance, handling general repairs (plumbing, carpentry, painting), and ensuring a safe work environment that complies with all safety guidelines. Perform pre-operation checklists and verify all safety devices are functional at all times.Equipment Operation: Operate floor sweeper / scrubber to maintain the facility floor.Battery Management (at applicable sites): Maintain and operate the battery changing station, including the removal and replacement of lift batteries.Safety & Compliance: Dispose of hazardous materials in accordance with established OSHA and Wayfair safety policies and procedures. Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and guidelines.Administration: Complete work orders, records, logs, and other written or computer-based documents. Perform other job-related duties as directed by Manager/Supervisor.What You'll Need (Minimum Requirements)Experience & Skills: Strong mechanical aptitude and basic carpentry and maintenance experience, including plumbing and painting. Proficient using hand and power tools and computers to perform required duties.Equipment Knowledge: Experience safely using warehouse equipment such as aerial lifts, order pickers, pallet jacks, and forklifts. Previous battery charger/changer experience is a plus.Physical Capability: Ability to regularly bend, lift, stretch, crawl, and reach. Must be comfortable repeatedly lifting up to 75 lbs unassisted . Ability to access all areas of the building by climbing ladders and gangways safely and without limitation.Work Environment: Ability to work in a non-climate controlled environment that can be noisy and unlit.Work Ethic: Must be flexible on working hours and willing to work scheduled & unscheduled overtime.
