Job Overview The Sales Engineer will be responsible for understanding company products and their application to sell to key customers in the industry. The Sales Engineer will have a strong background in municipal water systems and capital equipment sales and must have an engineering degree, preferably Mechanical Engineering. This role requires an individual who is self-motivated, technically proficient, and capable of building relationships with contractors, consultants, and manufacturers. Key Responsibilities Develop relationships with consultants, contractors, and representatives in the municipal water and wastewater space to promote and sell products. Provide technical expertise & solutions to clients, ensuring products meet their specifications. Conduct on-site visits, product demonstrations, and presentations to municipal end users & consultants. Manage the sales process from initial contact through bid process and contract negotiation. Collaborate with internal teams, including engineering and project management, to ensure seamless bidding and execution. Gain complete information for quotation requisitions including plans, specs & other requirements. Represent the company at industry trade shows, conferences, and networking events. Develop sales forecasts & reports. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical Engineering preferred, but other engineering disciplines will be considered). Minimum of 3 years of proven sales experience in capital equipment and/or municipal water projects. Strong knowledge of contractors, consultancies, and procurement processes in the municipal water industry. Ability to travel extensively to meet with clients and stakeholders. Strong organizational and multitasking abilities. Self-starter with a results-driven approach and the ability to work independently. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). Familiarity with CRM software and sales processes is a plus.
