Financial Controller

Rosner Resources is partnering with a rapidly expanding national insurance organization seeking an experienced Financial Controller to join its leadership team. This highly visible role will oversee key accounting and financial reporting functions, including the monthly and quarterly close and preparation of financial results for senior management. The Financial Controller will play an integral role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting while maintaining compliance with GAAP and statutory accounting requirements. Operating within a complex, multi-entity environment, this individual will also help support the organization through continued growth and transformation. Responsibilities will include strengthening financial processes and controls, integrating systems and teams, partnering with audit resources, and identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and scalability across the finance organization. The ideal candidate combines strong technical accounting expertise with proven leadership experience and the ability to successfully navigate a fast-paced, evolving insurance organization. Key Responsibilities Lead monthly and quarterly close processes and oversee the preparation and analysis of financial results. Provide timely and accurate financial reporting and analysis to senior management. Ensure compliance with GAAP, statutory accounting principles, and applicable insurance-industry reporting requirements. Oversee and develop accounting and finance team members. Partner with internal and external audit teams and support audit requirements. Maintain and strengthen accounting policies, procedures, internal controls, and reporting processes. Support the integration of financial systems, processes, and teams as the organization continues to expand. Identify opportunities to streamline and automate accounting and reporting processes. Provide financial insight and solutions within a rapidly changing and increasingly complex business environment. Support organizational growth, including integration initiatives related to mergers and acquisitions. Skills & Experience 5+ years of progressive accounting/finance leadership experience, including experience leading financial teams. Property & Casualty insurance industry experience required. Statutory accounting experience required. Strong knowledge of GAAP financial reporting and accounting principles. Demonstrated experience working with internal and/or external audit teams. Advanced ERP systems experience within a large or complex corporate environment. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational capabilities. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate across all levels of an organization. Proven ability to lead through change and develop solutions within a high-growth, rapidly evolving environment. Education Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline required.
