Director Of Business Operations

The Bensalem Township School District is located in scenic Bucks County, PA. Bensalem is home for approximately 6500 students in grades K-12. The District operates one high school, two middle schools and six elementary schools.

About the position:

This cabinet-level position is responsible for all aspects of the school district's business operations and overseeing operational departments.

Primary duties performed:

• Oversight of all financial functions of the district
• Budget development and board presentations
• Coordination of all PDE reporting documents - PDE 2028 budget document & annual financial report (AFR)
• Supervision and management of the end of year audit
• Supervision and management of the payroll department
• Federal program financial reporting – quarterly & final expenditure reports
• Business committee liaison
• Supervision of director of food service(s)
• Supervision buildings & grounds
• Supervision of transportation
• Oversight of accounts receivable - collection of taxes
• Oversight of accounts payable
• Monitoring of investments
• Management of liability insurances, medical and dental insurances, and benefits
• Bond borrowing and data submissions for bond borrowing – Plancon K, Plancon submission for reimbursements, and EMMA annual reporting
• District level FRCPP comprehensive & strategic plan implementation
• Financial calculations for negotiations

Additional responsibilities:

• Will vary with specific assignment and depend on the area for which the person is responsible.
• Performs all other duties as assigned by the superintendent.
• Responds to crisis situations when appropriate.
• Maintains confidentiality relative to all workplace matters.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in business administration/accounting; MBA and/or CPA preferred.
• At least five (5) years of previous experience in school business management.
• Registered status as Pennsylvania School Business Administrator (PRSBA) preferred
• Registered status as Registered School Business Administrator (RSBA) as granted by the Association of School Business Officials International.
• Experience in supervising electronic budget and accounting systems.
• Strong communication skills; ability to communicate with other employees in a positive manner.
• Ability to organize, write, and set priorities.
• Training, experience and proficiency in using computers and Microsoft software including but not limited to Word and Excel.
• Training, experience and proficiency in using networked computer systems.
• Training, experience and proficiency with required software systems.
• Experience in completing government reports including federal, state and local reports.
