Phlebotomist

Location: Winston Salem, NC | Schedule: Full-time, contract, on-site, M-F 5am-6pm (hours vary, 8 hour shift) | Compensation: Not specified Overview A healthcare services organization is seeking a skilled Phlebotomist for a float role supporting multiple locations in the Winston Salem, NC area. This is a 3 months contract position with potential for permanent placement, ideal for a detail-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced clinical environment and enjoys variety in daily work locations. What you'll do Perform blood draws, label specimens, and centrifuge samples as required Record maintenance data and perform decontamination procedures Update patient information accurately Collect and store specimens according to established procedures Explain venipuncture and other specimen collection processes (e.g., urine, fecal) clearly and courteously to patients Demonstrate proper technique using straight needles and/or butterfly needles Fully understand and follow physicians' orders Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes; label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens per test order Verify all test requisitions or computer labels against scripts for 100% accuracy Package specimens for transport, maintaining required temperature and proper containers Follow protocol-specific procedures to maintain specimen integrity during transport Understand and comply with OSHA and DEP regulations Attend annual department trainings Answer telephone calls and communicate laboratory results to satisfy inquiries Travel between multiple locations in the area as a float phlebotomist (mileage expense paid) Required qualifications Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state of employment (as required in some states) Minimum of 6 months' work experience performing venipunctures in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite High School Diploma or GED Minimum 2 years of experience Clean driving record Reliable transportation Schedule of M-F 5am-6pm, with shifts of 8 hour shift each Compensation and benefits Benefits are available Mileage expense paid for travel between float locations Why this role This position offers a 3 months contract with potential for permanent placement, along with available benefits and paid mileage for travel between assigned locations. #J-18808-Ljbffr
