Join our Rex Inpatient Rehab Services team as a Physical Therapist II in our acute care setting. This FridayMonday position plays a vital role in supporting our weekend operations and ensuring exceptional patient care.

In this role, you'll help coordinate weekend scheduling across occupational, physical, and speech therapy; support patient throughput; collaborate closely with teammates; and provide high-quality, hands-on patient care.

We're seeking a clinician with five years of experience, including at least one year in acute care, who is ready to bring strong clinical skills, sound judgment, and a team-focused mindset to a dynamic weekend environment.

The Physical Therapist II is a clinical specialist and subject matter expert in the diagnosis and intervention management of patients with various diagnoses, disabilities, and impairments affecting multiple body regions, structures, systems, functional mobility, and activity participation. Employees in this classification provide evidence-based evaluation, consultation, and skilled treatment and instruction to patients and caregivers. The clinician participates in annual continuing education and provides departmental and organizational teaching to enhance personal and peer knowledge of evidence-based practice.

Responsibilities include completing physical therapy documentation, billing, and metrics per team guidelines; managing daily caseload with efficiency and efficacy; administering standard and specialized evaluations, therapeutic procedures and interpretation to assist in establishing a plan of care and manages resources to accomplish patient goals; mentoring assistive personnel and delegates responsibilities as per licensing board guidelines; developing, coordinating, and evaluating specialized programs for specific clinical service areas; providing clinical education, clinical precepting and mentoring of students, residents and/or fellows, and other disciplines; serving as a resource to North Carolina government departments and statewide health professionals in specialty areas; demonstrating leadership attributes, advocating for the profession and facilitating change, contributing to the professional development of others, promoting initiatives, and exemplifying quality service provision.

Education Requirements: Graduation from an accredited Physical Therapy program. Licensure/Certification Requirements: Licensed as a Physical Therapist in the state of North Carolina. BLS Professional Experience Requirements: Five (5) years of experience as a licensed Physical Therapist, including one (1) year in the specialty field. Knowledge/Skills/and Abilities Requirements: Advanced level clinical skills as evidenced by specialty certifications, additional training and/or expertise in a given clinical specialty. Exhibits effective communication and interprofessional skills; requires physical stamina and repetitive movements, including, but not limited to, sitting, standing, kneeling, walking, and squatting during patient interventions while supporting one's weight; can engage in high-level problem-solving to ensure patient safety during mobilization.
