Make a meaningful impact supporting school-aged students on the autism spectrum as a skilled physical therapist in a part-time, contract role. This flexible opportunity offers you the chance to foster development and independence, working one day per week in a school-based setting near Coatesville, PA. Collaborate with educators, caregivers, and a multidisciplinary team as you deliver compassionate, creative support tailored to each student’s unique needs.
Qualifications:
- Valid state licensure as a Physical Therapist
- Previous experience working in educational or pediatric settings preferred
- Comfortable adapting interventions for students with autism spectrum disorder
- Aptitude for collaborating with teachers, staff, and families
- Knowledge of IEP processes and school-based documentation
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Dedication to fostering growth, engagement, and inclusion
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized and group physical therapy services targeting motor development, mobility, and functional independence in students
- Conduct assessments and collaborate on developing and implementing IEP goals
- Educate and consult with school staff and families regarding strategies for student success
- Maintain thorough, timely documentation and progress notes
- Support students in accessing their educational environment as independently as possible
- Adapt therapeutic activities to address sensory, behavioral, and functional needs
- Participate in student-centered meetings and team discussions
