LHH is seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist for a client seeking to add a knowledgeable payroll professional to their team. This opportunity is ideal for someone who is comfortable managing detailed payroll processes, meeting critical deadlines, and ensuring employees are paid accurately and on time.

The ideal candidate will bring hands-on payroll experience, strong attention to detail, and a solid understanding of payroll reporting, tax requirements, and compliance. This individual should be comfortable working with confidential employee information and resolving payroll-related questions with professionalism and accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Process payroll accurately and within established deadlines
• Review payroll data, employee changes, deductions, and adjustments for accuracy
• Assist with quarterly and annual payroll reporting and required filings
• Support payroll tax activities, including reconciliation and reporting
• Research and resolve payroll discrepancies and employee inquiries
• Maintain accurate payroll records and confidential employee information
• Reconcile payroll-related accounts and identify discrepancies
• Assist with year-end payroll activities and reporting
• Partner with HR, accounting, and other internal teams as needed
• Help maintain compliance with applicable payroll regulations and company procedures

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a Payroll Specialist, Payroll Coordinator, Payroll Administrator, or similar payroll-focused position
• Strong working knowledge of payroll processing and payroll reporting
• Experience supporting quarterly and year-end payroll activities
• Understanding of payroll taxes, deductions, garnishments, and other payroll-related transactions
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills and experience working within payroll or HRIS systems
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills
• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information professionally

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience processing payroll for a high-volume or multi-state employee population
• Familiarity with payroll tax filings, including Form 941 and year-end reporting
• Experience with payroll system implementations, upgrades, or process improvements
• Associate or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, Business, or a related field
