Commercial Lender Houston

Houston Bank client is seeking an experienced Commercial Lender, SVP to develop and manage a commercial loan portfolio with a focus on high-quality, primarily CRE loans. This role requires strong credit skills, sound loan management abilities, and the ability to work closely with executive management to support strategic growth of the bank’s loan portfolio and net income.

This individual will present new loans for approval, maintain an existing portfolio, and cultivate relationships with customers and prospects to drive loan growth. Knowledge of investor CRE and SBA lending is preferred. The role also supports the positive image and continued growth of the bank through strong client service and business development.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and manage a commercial loan portfolio in the Houston market

• Focus on originating high-quality, primarily CRE loans

• Present new loans for approval and maintain the existing loan portfolio

• Apply credit skills and loan management abilities in evaluating and managing lending relationships

• Work closely with executive management to help formulate strategic planning goals and objectives

• Support growth of the bank’s loan portfolio and net income

• Provide strong loan service to customers and cultivate relationships with potential customers to drive loan growth

• Contribute to the positive image and growth of the bank

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, economics, or a business-related field required

• Minimum of five years of commercial lending experience

• Strong knowledge of lending products and services

• Knowledge of investor CRE and SBA loans preferred

• Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and ability to handle high-pressure situations

• Excellent written, communication, and customer relations skills

• Ability to set strategic goals and ensure high quality of products and services

• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook

Compensation

$150,000 - $200,000+ per year
