- Conduct assessments for patients from pediatric to geriatric populations utilizing standardized testing and observational strategies.
- Design tailored treatment plans addressing both immediate and long-term communication, cognitive, and swallowing objectives.
- Deliver specialized speech therapy focused on enhancing communication, language, fluency, voice, and swallowing capabilities.
- Engage collaboratively with physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, caregivers, and families to formulate comprehensive care strategies.
- Provide essential education to patients and families to reinforce progress outside sessions.
- Participate in occasional speech therapy evaluations and interventions for inpatient care, maintaining consistent support throughout each patient's rehabilitation journey.
- Ensure timely and accurate documentation that complies with state, federal, and organizational standards.
- Embrace continuous professional development through ongoing education and collaboration with colleagues.
- A Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if ASHA certification has not yet been obtained.
- Valid state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
- Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be secured within 30 days of hire.
- Expertise in evidence-based therapeutic methods for a wide range of ages, alongside a robust understanding of both developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills for communication with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
- Capacity to tailor therapy techniques to respect diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
- Strong clinical judgment complemented by adept problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with electronic medical records and documentation protocols.
