Technical Specialist

Technical Specialist, Data Engineering – Charlotte, NC (Hybrid) Join a growing engineering team building a modern, cloud-based data platform from the ground up. This is an opportunity to help shape the future of enterprise data architecture by designing scalable, high-performance data solutions using open-source technologies while collaborating with experienced technical leaders. In this role, you'll own the end-to-end data pipeline , moving data from OLTP (transactional) systems into OLAP (analytical) environments. You'll design data models , implement Change Data Capture (CDC) solutions, build robust ETL/data transformation pipelines , and develop a scalable analytics platform using Apache Iceberg, Debezium, Apache Kafka, Apache Flink, and AWS . We're seeking an engineer with hands-on production experience designing and supporting enterprise data platforms—not candidates whose experience is limited to personal or side projects. The ideal candidate has strong expertise in OLTP-to-OLAP data movement , Apache Iceberg , CDC , data modeling , and AWS , with the ability to work across the entire solution—from infrastructure through the data layer . Experience with Databricks , PostgreSQL , Python , PySpark , or the financial services industry is a plus but not required . This role is perfect for someone who enjoys solving complex technical challenges, influencing architecture, and building solutions that make a lasting impact. Although this is an individual contributor position , there is a clear path to technical leadership for candidates who demonstrate exceptional technical ability, initiative, and leadership potential.
