Research Nurse NeJoin the ENRxICH research study in the School of Pharmacy at UW-Madison as a Community Health Worker!Work alongside Dr. Maurer, the study coordinator for Dr. Shiyanbola (based at University of Michigan), whose studies seek to examine how psychosocial and sociocultural factors influence medication taking behaviors. This participant study develops and implements patient-centered interventions through the work of Community Health Workers, partnering with peer support persons to improve medication use and diabetes management. This role will collaborate with community partners and organizations to deliver a component of the study intervention for the ongoing ENRxICH research project.Please note, this is a 20-25% FTE position (averaging 8-10 hours per week) and may require occasional evening and weekend hours for research responsibilities. Travel to/within Madison, WI is required for this position. You must qualify to use a UW-Madison fleet vehicle by possessing a valid driver's license and meeting risk management standards or have the ability to provide your own transportation that meets UW-Madison risk management standards. The hired candidates will be required to complete all required training including human subjects research, HIPPA, and intervention delivery trainings. Please also review the required qualifications listed in this posting.Key Job Responsibilities:Assists in the recruitment and screening of subjects for clinical studies by conducting physical health assessmentsCollects, verifies, and enters data into database and analyzes clinical information dataServes a primary point of contact for emergent study participant situations related to adverse effects or complications of the studyProvides appropriate treatment plan direction and information to study participantsMay provide expertise, training, and guidance to the community, peers, and/or studentsSupervises the day-to-day activities of research work unitSecures and schedules logistics for clinical research projects according to the research planServes as main point of contact and liaison to project participants, investigators, research sponsors, and the research team delivering study information in accordance with established research project standards and protocolsParticipate in research team meetings including periodic meetings with Milwaukee AHEC supervisorsCompensation:$25.73 per hourRequired Qualifications:Completion of the Milwaukee Area Health Education Center's Community Health Worker training program or a comparable programHave experience with diabetes via a lived experienceAt least two years' experience working with underserved individuals through community engagement or partnershipExcellent verbal or written skillsProficiency with Microsoft Word & ExcelMust be able to work well independently as well as on a teamDetail oriented, and have excellent interpersonal, problem-solving, and organizational skillsPreferred Qualifications:Experience managing electronic documentation of case management informationBilingual in English and SpanishEducation:Bachelor's degree preferredInstitutional Statement on Diversity:Diversity is a source of strength, creativity, and innovation for UW-Madison.
