Family Assistant

Position Overview

A warm and welcoming family in Middleton, Wisconsin is seeking an experienced Family Assistant to provide household support, transportation, meal preparation, and organizational assistance while helping their busy home run smoothly.

Primary Responsibilities

Childcare and Family Support

• Safely transport the children to sports, tutoring, appointments, religious education, and other extracurricular activities
• Manage afternoon schedules and ensure the children arrive at activities prepared and on time
• Provide supervision and support during the afternoon and early evening
• Assist with homework and school-related organization as needed
• Encourage a positive, structured, and engaging environment
• Help the children maintain established routines and age-appropriate responsibilities

Meal Preparation and Grocery Shopping

• Prepare healthy family meals, snacks, and meal components
• Assist with weekly meal planning
• Complete grocery shopping and maintain household food staples
• Wash and prepare produce
• Keep the refrigerator and pantry organized
• Complete kitchen cleanup following meal preparation

Household Support

• Complete family laundry, including folding and putting clothing away
• Change bedding, towels, and kitchen linens
• Complete standard kitchen cleanup and daily resets; no deep cleaning is required
• Keep common areas neat and organized
• Organize the children's clothing and rotate outgrown or seasonal items
• Assist with ongoing household organization projects
• Help maintain an orderly and efficient home environment

Errands and Household Assistance

• Complete returns and exchanges
• Purchase requested household and family items
• Run local errands as needed
• Maintain household supplies
• Assist with family projects and seasonal needs
• Help organize sports equipment, school items, and activity materials

Pet Care

• Walk and assist with the care of the family's puppy
• Monitor the puppy and reinforce established routines
• Comfort and experience with dogs are essential
• The family is willing to provide professional dog-training support if needed

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Family Assistant, Household Manager, Nanny, or in a similar private household role
• Valid driver's license with an excellent driving record
• Reliable personal vehicle
• Comfortable transporting children
• Comfortable with dogs and willing to assist with pet care
• Strong organizational and time-management skills
• Excellent communication skills

This active and close-knit family includes two school-aged children and an energetic young Airedale Terrier. Their daughter is a sweet, artistic, and curious 11-year-old who enjoys exploring and experiencing new things.
