CNC Machinist

Position: Machine Operator (CNC)
Location: Madison, WI Metro
Salary: $22 - $32 per hour (DOE)

 

Overview: 
We are seeking a CNC Machinist to support the production of precision components in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role involves operating CNC machines, ensuring parts meet quality standards, and performing basic setup and program adjustments as needed. The ideal candidate has hands-on machining experience, strong attention to detail, and a solid understanding of machining processes and safety practices.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate CNC machines to produce precision parts, including loading materials, monitoring runs, and performing basic quality checks

• Perform basic on-machine programming and edits, including adjusting offsets, modifying programs, and making simple G-code changes as needed

• Assist with operating basic shop equipment, including drills, grinders, and simple CNC or manual machines.
• Prepare materials, take measurements, and perform routine quality checks to support production needs.
• Help assemble, modify, or finish parts by following established instructions and shop procedures.
• Keep tools, equipment, and work areas clean, organized, and in good condition.
• Follow all safety guidelines and standard operating procedures while performing daily tasks.
• Work with team members and supervisors to complete projects and continue learning new skills.

Qualifications:

• Experience operating CNC Machines in a production or manufacturing environment
• Basic knowledge of CNC programming, including the ability to make simple adjustments at the machine
• Mechanical aptitude or interest in working with tools, machines, or hands-on projects.
• Willingness to learn machining processes and gradually take on more technical work.
• Ability to use basic measuring tools and follow step-by-step instructions.
• Strong attention to detail, reliable work habits, and a safety-focused mindset.
• Positive attitude and ability to work well within a team.
• Prior technical coursework or shop experience is helpful but not required.
