Construction Litigation Paralegal

A growing law firm is seeking an experienced Construction Litigation Paralegal to support its attorneys in construction, mechanics lien, real estate, and civil litigation matters. The ideal candidate will have strong litigation and trial-preparation experience, excellent organizational skills, and a detailed understanding of construction-related claims, lien requirements, court filings, and litigation deadlines.

This is a hands-on role supporting matters from initial case assessment through discovery, motion practice, settlement, and trial. The successful candidate will be highly organized, proactive, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple matters in a fast-paced legal environment.

Paralegal Responsibilities:

• Support attorneys throughout all phases of construction and civil litigation, from case initiation through settlement, trial, or other resolution.
• Prepare and assist with mechanics lien matters, including Notices of Intent, lien documents, lien verification, property ownership research, legal descriptions, and recording requirements.
• Track and calculate statutory deadlines, including lien filing and foreclosure deadlines, discovery deadlines, hearings, and trial calendars.
• Draft, organize, and file pleadings, motions, discovery, correspondence, exhibits, and other litigation documents.
• Manage construction-related case files and organize documents, including contracts, change orders, pay applications, invoices, project records, daily logs, plans, and schedules.
• Assist attorneys with discovery, depositions, motion practice, settlement preparation, and trial preparation, including bench and jury trials.
• Prepare trial materials such as exhibits, witness materials, deposition summaries, trial notebooks, and court filings.

Paralegal Requirements:

• 3+ years of paralegal experience, preferably with construction, mechanics lien, real estate, or civil litigation experience.
• Experience supporting construction litigation or lien-related matters strongly preferred.
• Hands-on experience with trial preparation, including bench and/or jury trials.
• Strong knowledge of litigation procedures, court rules, filing requirements, and case deadlines.
• Experience with state and federal electronic filing systems.
• Familiarity with construction documents, contracts, change orders, payment disputes, liens, or construction defect matters.
• Exceptional attention to detail and ability to manage multiple cases and competing deadlines.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with attorneys and legal staff.
• Highly organized, proactive, and able to anticipate case needs in a fast-paced environment.
