Pay or shift range: $80,000 USD to $100,000 USD. The estimated range is the budgeted amount for this position. As our Assistant Controller , you'll partner closely with the Controller to oversee day‑to‑day accounting operations, lead month‑end close activities, support audits, supervise accounting staff, and help drive continuous improvement across our Finance Department. Generous paid time off and paid holidays Employee Assistance Program Employee appreciation events and recognition programs $200 annual Lifestyle Benefit for fitness classes, gym memberships, sports equipment, pet care, and more Supportive leadership and a collaborative work environment Opportunity to make a real difference in your community What You'll Do Lead monthly, quarterly, and year‑end close processes Prepare and review financial statements, journal entries, reconciliations, and account analyses Support audits, budgeting, financial reporting, and cash management Supervise and mentor accounting staff Improve accounting processes and strengthen internal controls Partner with leadership to provide financial insights and recommendations Serve as the Controller's operational backup when needed We're Looking For Someone Who Has Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field At least 5 years of progressive accounting experience Experience with month‑end close, financial reporting, reconciliations, and audits Previous leadership or supervisory experience is preferred Advanced Microsoft Excel skills Experience in nonprofit, healthcare, or government‑funded accounting is a plus Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills Work Location This is a fully onsite position in El Cajon, CA. Remote and hybrid work are not available.
