Wolfgang Puck Catering is seeking an experienced Sous Chef who enjoys working in a fast‑paced, high‑standards environment and brings a passion for executing elevated culinary experiences at scale. This role supports both large-format catering events and corporate dining operations from our South San Francisco commissary. Working closely with the Executive Chef, the Sous Chef plays a key role in daily culinary operations, menu development, and event execution. This is an opportunity for a collaborative, hands‑on culinary professional who enjoys leading teams, refining processes, and delivering memorable food experiences. What You’ll Do Support the day‑to‑day operation of the Culinary Department, ensuring consistent quality, presentation, and service Partner with the Executive Chef on menu planning, recipe development, and seasonal offerings Lead and execute high‑end catering and ad hoc culinary events, including large‑scale production Assist with cost controls, inventory management, and responsible purchasing practices Supervise, train, and support hourly culinary team members, fostering a positive and inclusive kitchen culture Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, and company standards Contribute to the rollout of new culinary programs in collaboration with marketing and corporate culinary teams Participate in client satisfaction initiatives and continuously look for ways to enhance the guest experience What We’re Looking For Culinary training (A.S. degree or equivalent professional experience) Progressive experience in culinary or kitchen leadership roles Experience supporting catering operations; high‑volume or complex foodservice environments strongly preferred Exposure to institutional or batch cooking environments is helpful Strong understanding of current food and catering trends, with attention to quality, production, and presentation Working knowledge of food cost controls, ordering, and inventory practices Comfort using technology and standard office tools, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and email Willingness to engage in client feedback and satisfaction programs ServSafe certification preferred (or willingness to obtain) Wolfgang Puck Catering is a member of Compass Group USA.
