Senior Human Resources Generalist

Job Description About the role The HR Generalist, Senior will be an experienced professional who has demonstrated commitment and excellence in prior roles through promotions or longevity in a position and will assist the Human Resources team with the day-to-day operations of the HR Department. This Senior HR Generalist will be prepared to step‑in and cover managerial level tasks as needed at the request of the Human Resources Manager and will routinely carry out responsibilities in some of the following functional areas: recruiting, onboarding, benefits administration, compliance, report tracking and record keeping of employee files and the maintenance of HR systems, while ensuring compliance with company policies and applicable legal requirements. Key Responsibilities Full cycle hiring efforts, including recruiting strategy, screening resumes, scheduling candidates, interviewing, and extending offers. Update and maintain job posting boards by placing current openings on the appropriate sites or removing openings when they are filled. Assist in communicating employment offers to candidates and negotiate start dates with hiring manager and candidate. Conduct or acquire background checks and team member eligibility verifications. Process I9s through E‑Verify, ensuring compliance, monitoring and updating I‑9 Employment Eligibility Verification documentation as needed. Facilitate the new hire orientation process, including benefits enrollment, new hire announcement, database updates, and creation of employee personnel file. Facilitate the employee off‑boarding process, including exit interviews and monitoring/assisting completion of associated tasks and checklists. Develop and maintain complete and accurate HR files for all employees, including all correspondence with candidates and employees, documents related to employer policies, payroll information, and medical & benefit information, in accordance with applicable laws, company policy and best practices to mitigate risk. Maintain the company’s organization chart and update it with all organizational changes on a monthly basis. Log data and maintain personnel files and upload all documents into the HRIS. Coordinate administrative processing and benefits administration of all new hires, transfers, terminations/separations and qualifying events. Respond to verification of employment requests as needed. Perform monthly reconciliation of premium billing and/or accounting with the team to ensure proper invoicing from health care companies as well as proper deductions from employees each pay period. Document, prepare correspondence, and track all FMLA & ADA requests and ensure compliance with all applicable laws and policies. Perform audits on employee records. Assist with coordination of company or employee events. Assist with strategic HR projects as necessary. Track and report monthly HR metrics. Work closely with managers in connection with recruiting and compliance efforts. Help conduct investigations. Assist with training and enforce compliance with company policies, procedures, and applicable laws. All other duties as assigned. Education & Experience Bachelor’s degree in business administration, human resources, or a relevant area of study. 8+ years of cumulative experience in a corporate environment in HR and/or related field. Knowledge of HR practices and personnel laws is preferred. Professional Qualities Ability to read, understand and comply with the company’s written policies. Ability to read, understand, and comply with legal guidelines applicable to HR matters, including FMLA, ADA, Worker's Compensation and EEOC guidelines. Ability to develop and maintain cordial professional relationships with personnel at all levels. Sound judgment and ability to prioritize tasks to meet deadlines. Strong organizational skills. Ability to multitask, solve problems, and implement innovative processes within a fast‑paced environment. Detail‑oriented and willing to learn new skills. Positive attitude when working with internal and external personnel at all levels. Ability to interact with colleagues in a self‑managed team structure. Ability to maintain confidentiality in matters involving security and/or personnel issues. Computer Skills Demonstrate computer proficiency, especially with Microsoft Excel, Word, Power Point, and other PC‑based programs.
