If you take pride in precision, enjoy hands-on work that directly impacts patient care, and want to be part of a highly respected surgical team, this is your opportunity to build a meaningful healthcare career at PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center in Vancouver, Washington.What's in it for you?Join a collaborative surgical services team that relies on your expertise to keep patient care moving safely and efficiently.Develop highly transferable technical skills in instrument processing, sterilization, inventory management, and surgical case support.Work in a growing hospital environment with opportunities for certification, advancement, and continued learning.Receive competitive pay, comprehensive benefits, and retirement contributions from day one of eligibility.Build your career with a mission-driven healthcare system known for compassionate care, teamwork, and caregiver wellbeing.What You'll DoAs a Sterile Processing Technician, you'll play a critical role in patient safety by ensuring surgical instruments and medical equipment are properly cleaned, inspected, assembled, sterilized, and ready when needed.You will:Prepare surgical instrument trays and supplies for procedures.Clean, decontaminate, inspect, and assemble surgical instruments.Operate autoclaves and other sterilization equipment.Disassemble and reassemble complex instrument sets.Verify instruments are functioning properly and meet quality standards.Restock supplies and maintain inventory levels.Distribute instruments, equipment, and supplies throughout surgical and procedural areas.Maintain sterilization records and documentation.Clean and maintain department equipment.Work closely with surgical teams to help ensure procedures start on time and safely.Follow infection prevention and patient safety standards at all times.What You'll BringRequiredHigh school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.One of the following:Minimum three (3) months of Sterile Processing Technician experience; orCompletion of a Sterile Processing Technician training course; orCurrent CRCST or CBSPD certification.Basic computer skills.Strong verbal and written communication skills.Also Considered Relevant ExperienceExperience in roles involving the cleaning, decontamination, and sterilization of surgical instrumentation may be considered, including:Veterinary TechnicianDental TechnicianSurgical Support AideOther related medical technician positionsCertification RequirementWithin one year of hire, employees must obtain one of the following nationally recognized certifications:CRCST (Certified Registered Central Service Technician) through HSPA/IAHCSMM, orCSPDT (Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician) through CBSPD, orAnother nationally recognized sterile processing certification approved by PeaceHealth.Life at PeaceHealthPeaceHealth is a not-for-profit healthcare system built on a mission of serving communities with compassion, respect, and excellence.
