Job Title: Cleanroom Technician Weekend Shift Job Description

The Cleanroom Technician Weekend Shift works in a climate-controlled production environment to support the manufacturing, packaging, and inspection of products in cleanroom areas. This role is part of a weekend schedule from September 2026 through April 2027 (exact end date to be determined), with hours from 6:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Friday through Sunday. Technicians work 36 hours and receive pay for 40 hours. The position involves hands-on work in areas such as the Automatic Plates Room (APR), Manual Plates Room (MPR), and Tubes (TVS) department, performing production, quality assurance, and documentation tasks while standing for the full shift and handling materials up to 30 pounds.

• Operate within cleanroom production areas, including the Automatic Plates Room (APR) and Manual Plates Room (MPR), where media is prepared and dispensed into petri dishes.
• Handle petri dishes and related materials, which may include seeing sheep blood in bags and cleaning petri dishes as part of the production process.
• Work in the Tubes (TVS) department to sort, package, label, and palletize tubes and bottles, following established work instructions and production procedures.
• Perform packing and packaging tasks, ensuring products are prepared accurately and efficiently according to documented packaging procedures.
• Conduct basic quality assurance checks and visual inspections to confirm products meet established standards and specifications.
• Complete production and packaging documentation accurately and legibly throughout the shift, following Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) guidelines.
• Use a calculator to perform basic math needed for production counts, measurements, and documentation.
• Stand and work on your feet for the entire 12.5-hour shift while lifting, twisting, and pushing items up to 30 pounds on a repetitive basis.
• Follow cleanroom protocols, including the use of required personal protective equipment, and maintain a clean, organized work area.
• Adhere to all manufacturing, assembly, and general production processes, including work instructions and safety procedures.
• Collaborate with small teams or work independently as assigned to meet production goals and timelines.
• Communicate clearly with supervisors and team members regarding production status, issues, and documentation requirements.

• At least 6 months of experience in production or manufacturing environments.
• Ability to work comfortably in a production manufacturing environment, including cleanroom settings.
• Ability to stand on your feet for the full 12.5-hour shift from Friday through Sunday.
• Capability to lift, twist, and push up to 30 pounds repetitively throughout the shift.
• Ability to speak, read, and write basic English to follow work instructions and complete documentation.
• Competence in performing basic math using a calculator for production and packaging tasks.
• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Comfort working in general production, manufacturing, and manufacturing assembly environments.
• Ability to follow Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards and detailed work instructions.
• Willingness to work in cleanroom production areas and adhere to required cleanroom protocols.

• Previous cleanroom experience is a plus and will help you transition quickly into the role.
• Experience with packaging, inspection, and quality assurance processes in a manufacturing environment.
• Familiarity with manufacturing processes, manufacturing production, and warehouse duties.
• Comfort working in areas with distinct smells, such as yeast or vinegar in certain buildings.
• Ability to work effectively both in small groups and independently.
• Willingness to wear required personal protective equipment, including hair nets, safety glasses, and face coverings, as provided.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation and product handling.
• Reliability and consistent attendance to support weekend production schedules.

The work takes place in a climate-controlled manufacturing facility with cleanroom production areas. In Building 1, there may be noticeable smells of yeast or vinegar, and certain sections, such as the test tube area where glass tubes and bottles are processed, can be loud; earplugs are provided for hearing protection. You may work in small groups or independently, depending on the task and department. Dress code includes safety shoes (steel or composite toe) and casual, practical clothing such as jeans, t-shirts, and sweatshirts, provided that nothing worn is offensive; scrubs are encouraged. The employer provides and requires hair nets, safety glasses, and surgical-style face coverings as part of the cleanroom and safety protocols. The weekend shift runs from 6:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Friday through Sunday, and you will be on your feet for the full shift while working with production and packaging equipment in a structured, process-driven environment.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lenexa, KS.

The pay range for this position is $19.55 - $23.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
