Warehouse Supervisor

Triad Metals International is currently seeking a Daylight Supervisor for its Processing and Distribution facility in Petersburg, VA

Established in 1987, Triad Metals is a privately held, independent company that has grown to become one of the premier wholesale distributors and processors of structural steel, tubing, pipe, piling and plate products. With six locations in the United States and Canada, Triad metals is currently seeking a Warehouse Supervisor for our Processing and Distribution facility in Petersburg, Va. 

The Daylight Shop Supervisor oversees all plasma cutting centers, laser machining centers, and associated processing activities during the daylight shift. This role ensures safe, efficient, and high‑throughput operation of the facility by coordinating closely with operators, maintenance, and other shift supervisors to maintain continuity across all three shifts.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

• Shift Leadership - Direct daily activities for plasma and laser machine operators; set priorities, assign work, and ensure safe, consistent execution of production plans.
• Safety Oversight - Enforce all safety policies, conduct daily safety checks, verify PPE compliance, and ensure machines are operated within safe parameters.
• Plasma & Laser Operations - Oversee setup, operation, and material flow for plasma burn tables, plasma centers, and laser machining centers; ensure programs, consumables, and staging are correct for scheduled work.
• Throughput Optimization - Monitor production rates, identify bottlenecks, adjust staffing or workflow, and collaborate with maintenance to minimize downtime.
• Cross‑Shift Coordination - Communicate priorities, issues, and machine status to second‑ and third‑shift operators; ensure seamless handoff of work and continuity of production.
• Team Collaboration - Work closely with weld, fabrication, and material‑handling teams to ensure proper staging, flow, and completion of work orders, and utilization of workers.
• Quality Assurance - Verify cut quality, dimensional accuracy, and part completeness; escalate non‑conformances and support corrective actions.
• Training & Development - Train operators on plasma and laser equipment, safe work practices, and standard operating procedures; support cross‑training across departments.
• Documentation & Reporting - Maintain shift logs, downtime records, production counts, and machine‑related documentation; report issues promptly to management.
• Maintenance Coordination - Partner with maintenance to schedule PMs, address equipment issues, and ensure machines remain in optimal operating condition.

Qualifications

• Supervisory experience in a fabrication, machining, or industrial production environment
• Hands‑on experience with plasma cutting systems and/or laser machining centers
• Strong understanding of industrial safety practices
• Ability to lead teams, communicate clearly, and coordinate across multiple shifts
• Experience with production scheduling, throughput management, or workflow optimization
