The successful candidate will join our Wireless Systems Group in Irvine and as a senior member of the team, will be responsible for the systems design and implementation of physical layer algorithms for low power Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and Sub-GHz wireless products. You will be working with a cross-functional global team in a collaborative environment that we take pride in. You will thrive on complex technical challenges and be personally motivated to provide the best solution to challenging problems.ResponsibilitiesWorking closely with RF/Analog, Digital, Validation and Software teams for bringing-up, testing and troubleshooting of test chips and SOC'sSimulate communication systems and participate in digital block designParticipate in RFIP design regarding block specs & controlsDesign and simulation of the physical layer of wireless communication systemsDevelopment of system models for performance evaluation, optimization and to guide design trade-offsWorking with the RF/Analog design team to develop module specificationsWorking with the digital design team to implement algorithms and digital modulesWorking with RF/Analog, digital and validation teams to bring-up, test and trouble-shoot test chips and SoC'sDocumentation and development of design and test plansBring up communication systems in labTest and debug communication systemsPerform other duties as assignedRequirements/Qualifications:RequirementsMaster's or PhD in Electrical Engineering with 8+ years of relevant experience in wireless PHY systems design and implementation.Strong background in signal processing and communication theoryExperience in MATLAB, C/C++ and fixed-point/cycle-true programming and simulationExperience on Modem and digital front-end blocks designExperience in IC design, RFIC calibration and testingExperience in Wi-Fi or Bluetooth PHY layer standard is a great advantageA team player; able to identify and resolve technical and schedule issues with team members.
