We are currently seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Property Accountant to join our fast-paced Property and Land Management team. This is a permanent position that offers you a chance to work alongside industry professionals in a vibrant, high-energy environment. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and controlling the accounting, reporting, and financial presentation of a portfolio of real estate properties. The ideal candidate will come from the property or real estate industry and have experience with multi-entity accounting.

Job Details

Responsibilities:

1. Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
2. Conduct regular GL reviews to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards and principles.
3. Prepare and review budget forecasts and variance analysis.
4. Manage year-end close processes, including the preparation of audit schedules and liaising with auditors.
5. Perform monthly reconciliations of bank and general ledger accounts.
6. Handle accruals, prepaids, and other adjusting entries to ensure accurate financial reporting.
7. Carry out cash flow analysis and provide recommendations to improve efficiency and profitability.
8. Use vlookups and other advanced Excel functions for data analysis and reporting.
9. Utilize property accounting software for data entry, report generation, and financial analysis.
10. Collaborate with property managers and other stakeholders to ensure all financial and operational data is accurate and up-to-date.
11. Participate in special projects and perform additional duties as required.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in property accounting or a similar role.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and other relevant accounting standards and principles.
• Proficiency in Excel, including the use of advanced functions like vlookups.
• Experience with property accounting software is a must.
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• CPA or CMA certification is a plus, but not required.
