Job Description Corporate Controller | Hybrid NYC or Morris County NJ | PE Backed \n \n A leading professional services firm is seeking a Corporate Controller to oversee accounting operations, consolidation, and financial reporting across multiple offices and legal entities. Reporting to the Chief Accounting Officer, this person will lead the corporate accounting team, partner with regional controllers, and deliver timely reporting to executive leadership, lenders, and a private equity sponsor. \n \n The role calls for someone who can manage a demanding close and audit calendar while improving consistency across a decentralized business. The Controller will also help strengthen controls and make better use of the company’s ERP system. \n \n Key responsibilities \n \n Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual close, including consolidation of results across legal entities and regions. \n Establish consistent accounting policies, reporting standards, and close procedures across offices. \n Prepare and review management reporting packages for executive leadership and the private equity sponsor. \n Own lender reporting, including debt covenant calculations, supporting schedules, and timely submissions. \n Partner with the CAO on the external group audit, coordinating deliverables across regional teams and keeping statutory and financial audits on schedule. \n Oversee centralized accounting functions, including the general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll. \n Design and maintain internal controls and identify opportunities to improve accounting processes. \n Use SAP or a comparable ERP to improve data quality, automate workflows, and shorten reporting timelines. \n Manage and develop the corporate accounting team while building effective working relationships with regional finance leaders. \n \n Qualifications \n \n Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance and an active CPA license . \n 12 years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 3–5 years in a Controller or comparable senior accounting leadership role. \n Strong knowledge of US GAAP, including ASC 606, financial statement consolidation, and internal controls. \n Hands-on experience with SAP or a similar ERP system. \n Experience overseeing close, reporting, and audits across multiple entities, offices, or regions. \n Ability to manage competing deadlines and coordinate work across teams with different reporting lines. \n Experience in a private equity backed business is highly preferred; public accounting experience is a strong plus. \n \n \n
