Overview The Chief Inspector III will lead the planning, implementation, and oversight of inspection standards, methods, and procedures at a repair station, ensuring compliance with FAA, EASA, DCMA, and other applicable regulations. The role certifies aircraft airworthiness, coordinates inspection activities, and maintains rigorous workmanship standards. Responsibilities Implement and manage inspection standards, methods, and procedures. Ensure compliance with FAA, EASA, DCMA, and other applicable regulations. Certify aircraft airworthiness by signing off on inspections and aircraft releases. Coordinate inspections related to scheduled maintenance, aircraft modifications, or component changes. Ensure the use of approved equipment and materials and uphold high workmanship standards. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to maintain inspection protocol adherence. Maintain detailed records of inspections and certifications. Conduct internal audits to verify regulatory compliance. Provide leadership and mentorship to the inspection team. Identify and implement process improvements for inspection operations. Qualifications – Must Have Bachelor’s degree in a related field. 7+ years of relevant experience (or 11+ years if no degree). In-depth knowledge of FAA regulations and aviation inspection practices. Ability to interpret complex technical schematics, diagrams, blueprints, manuals, and publications. Comprehensive understanding of troubleshooting techniques. Active, current FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) certification and Inspection Authorization (IA) designation. Advanced experience with aircraft, aircraft systems, equipment, and parts. Proficiency in audit and inspection processes. Qualifications – Preferred Master’s degree in a related field. Experience with EASA regulations and DCMA guidelines. Proven supervisory or managerial experience. Experience in recruiting, assigning, directing, evaluating staff, and developing staff competence. Background in the aerospace and defense industry, DoD, or U.S. military. Essential Functions Work in an office or hybrid environment. Travel as required. Lifting up to 25 lbs regularly. Stand and remain on feet for most of the shift. Hand/finger dexterity for inspections. Work in potentially hazardous environments, including loud noise exposure in aircraft hangars. Benefits and Compensation Estimated starting salary: $124,771.42 – $171,560.71, varying by experience and qualifications. Annual incentive pay based on performance. Medical, dental, and vision plans. 401(k) with 150% match up to 6%. Life insurance. Three weeks paid time off. Tuition reimbursement. Security Clearance The position requires obtaining and maintaining a Secret U.S. Security Clearance. U.S. citizenship is required; non-U.S. citizens are not eligible for a clearance.
