Staff Accountant

Kforce has a client that is seeking a Staff Accountant in Linthicum, MD. Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support day-to-day accounting operations, financial reporting, account reconciliations, and month-end close activities. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, experience working with general ledger accounting, and the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and post journal entries
• Perform account and bank reconciliations
• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts
• Support month-end and year-end close processes
• Analyze account variances and research discrepancies
• Assist with cash management and financial reporting activities
• Support accounts payable, accounts receivable, and inventory-related accounting functions as needed
• Prepare supporting schedules and documentation for audits
• Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and accounting standards
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve processes and internal controls
• Assist with special projects and other accounting duties as assigned
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
• 3-5 years of accounting experience
• Experience with journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end close
• Strong understanding of GAAP
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookups, and data analysis
• Experience with ERP systems
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Excellent attention to detail and communication abilities

• Experience with Oracle or other large ERP systems
• Public company or SOX compliance experience
• Financial reporting and audit support experience
