Job Description
Examines, diagnoses, treats, and refers lower-acuity emergency department patients, including obtaining health histories and performing physical examinations.
Reviews medical records, orders diagnostic tests, develops treatment plans, provides medications and other therapeutic care, and documents patient care.
Supervises Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants, including orientation, performance appraisal, competency assessment, credentialing, training, discipline, and leave approval.
Supports provider staffing, workload management, performance improvement, and efficient delivery of high-quality urgent and emergency care.
Promotes communication and cooperation among clinical, administrative, and support departments and participates in Medical Staff, departmental, training, and collaborative activities.
