About the Role

The Company is in search of a Vice President of Preconstruction to spearhead its enterprise-wide risk and insurance strategy. The successful candidate will be a seasoned executive with a practical, field-oriented mindset, capable of aligning insurance strategy with project execution, contractual obligations, and overall business performance. This role is pivotal in advising executive leadership and project operations teams on the evaluation, management, and mitigation of operational and financial risks associated with construction activities. The VP will lead the administration of all construction insurance programs, support strategic project pursuits, and partner with internal legal and safety leadership to enhance risk practices. A strong background in construction risk management, insurance leadership, or operational risk strategy, with a focus on large-scale commercial construction projects, is essential. Candidates for this role at The Company should have a minimum of 12 years' experience in the relevant fields, with a proven track record of managing sophisticated insurance programs and building strong relationships across various teams. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of complex construction operations, including wrap-up insurance structures, SDI programs, surety/bonding, and construction claims environments. Leadership characteristics include a collaborative and solutions-oriented style, strong business acumen, and the ability to communicate complex risk concepts in a practical manner. Success in this position will be measured by the alignment of risk functions, improved engagement in risk management, and the effectiveness of insurance programs in supporting operational goals.
