PROGRAM COORDINATOR - MAINE CITIES READINESS INITIATIVE Program Coordinator-Maine Cities Readiness Initiative Health & Human Services Department About the City of Portland Health & Human Services The Health & Human Services Department consists of four unique divisions; Barron Center, Elder Affairs, Public Health, and Social Services. Job Summary Prepare for the unexpected! The Maine Cities Readiness Initiative Program Coordinator develops and maintains plans for responding to public health emergencies in southern Maine. Following state and federal guidance for the Strategic National Stockpile (SNS) program, the Program Coordinator works with partners to ensure the community is prepared to receive and distribute emergency medical supplies during a public health emergency. Duties & Responsibilities: Developing and maintaining plans for receiving medical assets. Organizing Points of Dispensing (PODs). Helping ensure medications and other medical countermeasures can be distributed quickly and efficiently when needed. Conduct outreach to partners about program objectives, update written plans, and maintain warehouse inventory of response equipment. Required Skills & Experience: Foundational knowledge of public health and emergency preparedness. Demonstrate an independent and motivated work ethic. Ability to continuously seek new ways to innovate and accomplish programmatic goals. Work with a variety of stakeholders including community partners across the City and State. Excellent skills in written and verbal communication. Ability to multi task and serve as a resource to a small team. Experience working with grants including managing reporting requirements. Preferred Qualifications: A minimum of a BA/BS degree in public health, emergency management, or closely related field and/or three years of equivalent work experience. Expected Hours/Schedule: Full-Time, 37.5 hours/week, Monday-Friday 8:00 a.m.- 4:30 p.m. Applications accepted until August 28th, 2026. Salary & Benefits: This is a non union position, DBM C41, with a starting pay range of $71,429-$75,782 per year, based on relevant years of experience.
