Assistant Controller

Assistant Controller The Assistant Controller will support the accounting team by managing accounts payable processes and assisting with general ledger activities. This role plays a key part in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting monthly close activities, and ensuring smooth day to day financial operations across departments. The ideal candidate is organized, analytical, and highly detail oriented, with the ability to manage reconciliations, maintain accurate records, and work collaboratively across teams. Strong follow through and communication skills are essential for success in this role. Key Responsibilities: Support monthly and year end close activities Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations Maintain accuracy of the general ledger and supporting documentation Oversee accounts payable processes including invoice processing and payment runs Investigate and resolve invoice and payment discrepancies Organize financial records and maintain audit readiness Assist with audit requests and supporting schedules Use Excel to track, reconcile, and analyze financial data Coordinate with Accounting, Purchasing, and Operations teams Qualifications: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance preferred 13 years of accounting or accounts payable experience required Working knowledge of general ledger and account reconciliations Strong Excel proficiency required Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills Location: Newark, NJ Type: Full time Salary: $70,000$90,000/year #J-18808-Ljbffr Swift Staffing Group
