The Medical Assistant Phlebotomist plays a vital role in private practice healthcare settings by performing phlebotomy and supporting patient care activities. Regularly interacting with patients, this professional ensures proper sample collection, specimen handling, and accurate medical record updates using integrated electronic health records (EHR) systems. Working as part of a medical assistant team, the role typically operates within set hours from 7am to 7pm on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.

Responsibilities

• Perform phlebotomy and venipuncture to collect blood samples
• Prepare patients for procedures and address patient concerns
• Collect and handle specimens ensuring proper labeling and storage
• Update and maintain accurate medical records in EHR systems
• Schedule patient appointments and manage patient flow
• Measure and record vital signs consistently

Preferred Qualifications

• Entry-level experience in phlebotomy
• Certification in phlebotomy or medical assisting
• Proficiency with phlebotomy and venipuncture techniques
• Strong patient communication skills
• Knowledge of medical terminology and infection control practices
• Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems
• Excellent attention to detail
