Emergency Room - Float Pool

Hours

36 Hours, Days/Evenings from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM, with a rotation every third weekend and on holidays.

Key Responsibilities

The following duties outline the general nature of the role and are not exhaustive. Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed:

• Engage in and maintain awareness of performance improvement initiatives.
• Thoroughly assess and incorporate evidence-based practices and research into clinical care.
• Perform and document precise clinical evaluations.
• Create, implement, and assess individualized care plans for patients.
• Effectively manage patient assignments by delegating tasks based on patient needs and team members' skills.
• Formulate a detailed educational plan for patients and their families, utilizing suitable resources and documenting in accordance with departmental standards.
• Support patient and family rights by facilitating informed decisions and advanced directives.
• Continuously assess and adjust care plans based on changes in patients' health conditions.
• Develop comprehensive discharge plans using appropriate resources and referrals, including community services.
• Assist in the onboarding and development of new staff members, aiding their transition into the unit.
• Engage in professional growth by identifying educational needs and pursuing relevant training.

Qualifications

• Preferred: At least 1 year of experience in an Emergency Department.
• Required: Current RN licensure in Massachusetts in good standing.
• Strongly preferred: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
• Associate’s degree is acceptable.
• BLS certification is mandatory.
• 1-2 years of experience in Critical Care is preferred.
