Warehouse clerk

Position Overview Warehouse Clerk in Norfolk, VA, Day Shift (Mon‑Fri, 8:00‑5:30). Operate forklift or hand truck to move equipment and parts. Responsibilities Essential Functions: Operate forklift or use hand truck to move, convey, or hoist equipment and parts throughout the warehouse and work areas Comply with all quality standards and policies Maintain a clean and safe work area, including cleaning/maintaining equipment and work areas and performing safety inspections Shipping: Accurately pick, pack, and ship various sized parts to support quick turnaround of parts ordered Fill orders by removing the correct parts from the shelf, identifying part numbers, and proper quantity Determine method of shipment and pack accordingly Count, weigh, measure or examine packaging and contents of items for conformance to company specifications Receiving: Receive and unpack merchandise and supplies and verify accuracy of deliveries Perform general labor tasks including loading, unloading, lifting and moving materials Confirm proper location of merchandise Ensure production area organization and cleanliness Stock shelves by placing material in appropriate locations Working Conditions Employee frequently required to stand, walk, bend, stoop, balance and use arms and hands to reach, pull, push, clasp and move a variety of materials. Walkways are concrete and/or metal grating. Must lift and/or move up to 50 pounds occasionally and up to 20 lbs frequently. May be exposed to high, precarious places. Warehouse environment can be hot or cold and dusty. Compensation $16.00 to $21.00 per hour, start pay range. Actual base pay will vary based on qualifications and business needs.
