Construction Inspector – Building Construction
Location: Columbus, Ohio (Projects Throughout Central Ohio)
Compensation: $24–$30/hour + Overtime
We are hiring a Construction Inspector to support active commercial and building projects across Central Ohio.
You will be on-site daily ensuring work is performed correctly, safely, and in compliance with plans and codes. This is a field-first role with strong project exposure and consistent local work.
What You’ll Be Doing
Inspect commercial and building construction activities for compliance with plans and codes
Review structural, architectural, civil, and site work
Verify materials, workmanship, and installations meet specifications
Document daily reports, deficiencies, and corrective actions
Coordinate directly with contractors, engineers, and project managers
Maintain accurate records, photos, and inspection documentation
You will travel to job sites throughout Central Ohio. This is primarily field-based.
What You Need
2+ years of construction inspection or quality control experience
Strong knowledge of building construction methods and materials
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
Valid driver’s license
Comfort working outdoors and walking active job sites
Strongly Preferred
ICC, NICET, or other inspection certifications
Experience with commercial or multi-story buildings
OSHA 10/30 certification
Concrete, steel, masonry, or framing inspection experience
