About the Position

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 24-bed Intermediate Care Unit serving intermediate medical patients and surgical overflow, including post-operative and specialty cases such as diabetic teaching and wound care
• Monitor and interpret cardiac telemetry, manage dysrhythmias, and utilize Rapid Response Teams as needed
• Perform and manage IV therapy skills including central line care, PICC line management, port access, blood product administration, heparin protocols, PCA, and IV insulin protocols
• Manage genitourinary needs including continuous bladder irrigation, and provide feeding tube care and wound care/wound vac management
• Participate in holiday shifts and Charge RN assignments as needed per unit direction
• Float between departments, units, and facilities as needed to meet patient care demands

• Active RN license - both Kansas and Missouri licensure (or compact license) required at time of submission
• Minimum 1-2 years of Telemetry experience required; first-time travelers not accepted
• BLS certification required
• NIHSS certification required
• Proficiency in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and emergency response
• Must live at least 75 miles from the facility to be eligible; no local candidates accepted

• Experience with insulin drip titration and renal failure management
• Background in orthopedic trauma or total joint replacement care
• Familiarity with tracheostomy management and surgical drain care
• Experience with eye surgery patient care

• Expected schedule of 3 shifts per week on a fast-paced, high-acuity unit with Epic charting and complimentary parking
