Trust Accounting Associate, Follow-up (Commercials)

Responsibilities Basic accounts receivable and accounts payable duties Follow‑up on client monies and outstanding invoices Data entry and billing tasks Create and manage customized Excel spreadsheets for clients Review contracts and booking reports to ensure accurate information is entered into the accounting system Investigate held checks or wires with client teams to submit missing bookings Assist agents and assistants with coordinating booking report submission questions Perform additional accounting tasks as requested by supervisors and management Escalate missing booking report collections to the Trust Accounting Supervisor when no response within the defined timeframe Maintain communication with agents, assistants, managers, attorneys, studio contacts, and the trust department Follow‑up on open items where an agent is no longer with CAA but resolution is required Complete month‑end close tasks for accounts receivable, booking revenue according to recognition policies and closing schedules Maintain monthly analysis of all general ledger accounts related to commissions and accounts receivable Reconcile other accounts receivable-related accounts (unapplied cash, unclaimed credits, clearing, accrual, bad debt) Perform accurate monthly billing adjustments and handle billing questions and discrepancies Support the accounts receivable budget process by providing information, identifying variances, and implementing corrective actions Conduct monthly training for new agent assistants, including familiarity with trust accounting functions and booking submission procedures Identify and collect on past‑due balances while maintaining positive client relationships Assist with special projects, company initiatives, and process improvement initiatives Collect, upload, and update profit statements and booking/invoicing supplier grids Qualifications Preferred: Bachelor’s degree 3+ years of finance and accounting experience Entertainment industry experience preferred Strong interpersonal and communication skills Effective teamwork and ability to represent company culture High energy, enthusiasm, and strong multitasking abilities Capability to manage conflicting priorities in a fast‑paced, high‑volume, dynamic corporate environment Unimpeachable integrity and ability to maintain confidential information Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite Typing speed of 45 words per minute by touch, and 10‑key speed Excellent organizational, critical‑thinking, and problem‑solving skills Initiative and willingness to take on additional work Location & Compensation The role will be hybrid, based in Los Angeles. The base hourly rate is $28.00 – $32.00. The position is also eligible for benefits and a discretionary bonus. Pay may vary based on relevant experience, time in role, business sector, and geographic location.
