Details PACU unit operating 24/7 with an average daily census of 65-85 patients 4x12-hour day shifts, 11:00 AM to 11:30 PM Receives all surgical specialties except open heart surgery, including Neuro, Ortho, PV, Thoracic, Urology, Gyn, Plastics, and Peds Cares for intubated and pediatric patients Call requirement of 12-24 hours within a 6-week schedule block Required to work or take call on 1 holiday during the contract Floating required to other units within the hospital or nearby affiliate hospitals Requirements Active IN or Compact RN license required BLS, ACLS required; PALS preferred Minimum 2 years of PACU experience required Level 1 Trauma Center experience required ICU/PCU experience preferred Cerner charting experience required Experience with respiratory care and ventilated patients Surgical case experience across Neuro, Ortho, Vascular, Gyn, Plastics, Thoracic, and Urology Travel experience required Nursing degree from an ACEN or CCNE accredited university 2 supervisor references required SSN and DOB required for consideration Additional Information Provide perianesthesia nursing care in a fast-paced, high-acuity Level 1 Trauma Center setting Frequently receives critical care patients, particularly Neuro cases Must be comfortable working in a large, fast-paced facility Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays RTO of 5 days or less can be auto-approved; additional time off requires facility approval First-time travelers are welcome to apply Former IU Health perm or PRN employees must wait 12 months before applying as a traveler Local candidates residing within Indiana are accepted at a lower pay package for this position American Traveler Job ID P-742580.
