Role: Technical Services Specialist - Broadcast Technology Location: New York Department: Customer Solutions and Services Reports to: Director, Technical Services (based in LA) About the Role This specialist delivers Disguise projects across Broadcast and XR customers, primarily working on LED stages and mixed reality technologies. The role supports ESPN HQ, the 7 Hudson Studio, and other NYC‑based clients, requiring deep technical knowledge of xR, VP, DMX, and RenderStream workflows. The specialist collaborates with solutions designers, creative services, project managers, engineers, vendors, and customers to ensure projects are delivered on time, on scope, within budget, and exceed expectations. Key Responsibilities Collate bi‑annual maintenance and system updates with ESPN’s technical team, including OS, D3 designer build, IPVFC firmware, and RenderStream plugin upgrades. Assist with RenderStream license updates and provide system‑related support, health checks, workflow guidance, bespoke training, and last‑minute troubleshooting. Travel to client sites nationally and internationally (approximately once a month), working onsite for 1–2 weeks per project. Collaborate across the organization to implement diverse projects in virtual production, immersive experiences, and fixed installations. Serve as the technical liaison between Disguise technology, the customer, and the audience’s visual experience. Required Experience and Qualifications Broadcast engineering: 3+ years installing, configuring, and maintaining complex broadcast systems and control interfaces (hardware, software, third‑party platforms such as Ross, Grass Valley, Sony). Live production: Proven experience in high‑pressure sports, live events, and news broadcasting environments. Technical troubleshooting: Hands‑on experience with professional cameras, production switchers, and robust networking infrastructure. Client‑facing deployment: Comfortable traveling to and working directly onsite at client facilities, representing the technical team. IP video standards: Strong knowledge of SMPTE ST 2110 and related protocols. Industry trend awareness: Up‑to‑date knowledge of developments in broadcast, XR, and virtual production. Compensation Basic Salary Range: $100,000 – $120,000 USD (U.S. based candidates).
