About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Progressive Care Unit Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night 3x12-Hour Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience required. License: Must have an in-state license in hand prior to the start date. Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - Previous charge experience preferred. - Experience with patient ratios of 3-4. - Experience with charting systems preferred. Description: This position is for a Registered Nurse in the Progressive Care Unit. Candidates must have a minimum of 2 years of nursing experience. First-time travelers are accepted for this position. Required certifications include ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS. Floating to Med-Surg is required. Candidates must work 2 out of 3 major holidays. The patient age groups include adults and geriatrics. Daily census in the unit is approximately 8 patients. The unit has 12 beds available for patient care. Additional interdisciplinary support is provided by various teams including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, and social services. Common patient diagnoses include postoperative care, atrial fibrillation, sepsis, congestive heart failure exacerbation, and hypertension emergencies. Unit staff will require central line care and management experience. Candidates must be proficient in interpreting and managing dysrhythmias. All travelers must float within the hospital or to nearby affiliate hospitals. Candidates are required to provide two supervisor references. Travelers must comply with health and safety requirements as per guidelines.
