Cardiac Surgery Faculty Position

The purpose of this position is to provide the critical mass of faculty needed to provide cardiac surgery services at the Clear Lake Campus. This position is meant to provide faculty support to meet the teaching, research, and patient care needs of the Department of Surgery, Division of Cardiothoracic Surgery and assist in fulfilling UTMB's threefold mission. The person in this position is responsible for providing direct patient care, including surgery, consultative services, outpatient services, and care of hospitalized patients. He/she participates in all teaching activities of the Department including conferences and lectures, bedside teaching and rounds; house staff supervision in the operating room, clinics and in-patient services; continuing medical education; and local, regional and national meetings. Students include medical students, house staff, nursing students, and allied health students.

Candidates should be a graduate of an approved medical school, have completed an approved residency training and a fellowship program in cardiovascular surgery, be Board Certified/Board Eligible in Cardiovascular Surgery and have a Texas Medical license without restrictions.

Salary: Commensurate with experience.
