Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse (RN) – Progressive Care Unit – Alaska

Start Date: September 15, 2026

Location: Anchorage, Alaska

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: Night shift, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM; 13-week assignment; 3:1 patient ratio; every other weekend rotation required

Highlights:

• High-acuity progressive care/step-down unit with 19 beds in a fast-paced environment
• Experience with advanced cardiac monitoring, titratable drips, tracheostomy care, and BiPap/ventilator support
• EPIC electronic medical record system
• Comprehensive equipment including bedside monitors, Alaris IV pumps, high-flow oxygen, chest tubes, and feeding pumps
• Collaborative team environment with 7 RNs per shift including 1 charge nurse
• Float opportunities to cardiac surgery IMC, medical-telemetry, medical-surgical, and ortho-neuro units

Requirements:

• Active, permanent Alaska RN license required at time of submission (temporary licenses not accepted)
• Minimum 1 year of step-down ICU/IMC/PCU experience required
• Minimum 1 year of telemetry/cardiac monitoring experience required
• Current ACLS, BLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIH-SS) certifications required
• AK RN fingerprinting must be completed during onboarding prior to starting work
• Preferred: Experience with tracheostomy patients requiring continuous BiPap/long-term ventilator support, titratable drips (dopamine, dobutamine, nitroglycerin, cardene, ketamine, heparin, Cardizem, amiodarone), and CIWA assessments for alcohol/drug withdrawal treatment
