We are seeking a detail-oriented Pre-Litigation Attorney who can take ownership of personal injury matters, work directly with clients, and confidently move cases from intake through settlement in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. To learn more, visit our website: 15 total PTO days (2 weeks of vacation + 1 week of sick time on a pro-rata basis based on start date) + firm-observed holidays 100% paid health insurance for the employee + 25% paid health insurance for dependents Life insurance A 401(k) plan with a firm match Potential for an annual discretionary performance bonus Responsibilities: Manage pre-litigation personal injury cases from initial intake through settlement, collaborating with case managers, attorneys, and other team members Conduct client consultations and evaluate liability, damages, medical treatment, case value, and legal strategy to determine appropriate case approach Investigate claims by reviewing police reports, medical records, witness statements, insurance coverage, including UM coverage, and other relevant evidence Review and approve demand packages and supporting documentation Negotiate pre-litigation settlements and communicate settlement offers, recommendations, and legal guidance to clients Direct settlement finalization, lien resolution, settlement documentation, and disbursement preparation with support from case staff Identify cases that should proceed to litigation and coordinate a smooth transition to the litigation team Maintain accurate case records, deadlines, and communications using firm systems Ensure compliance with applicable legal standards, ethical rules, and firm policies Requirements: A JD degree, licensed to practice law in Louisiana, and in good standing 2+ years of experience in personal injury, preferably focused on pre-litigation matters A strong understanding of personal injury claims, medical records, damages, insurance, and settlement processes Strong client communication and relationship-building skills Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team Reliable, professional, and committed to an in-office work environment Credible and discreet, high level of integrity, ability to work with confidential and privileged information Ability to prioritize and meet multiple and competing deadlines Bonus Experience: Experience with lien resolution and settlement disbursements Experience with Filevine and/or Case Status Bilingual in English and Spanish Please note that this job description is intended to provide a general overview of the position and is not representative of all responsibilities, duties, and skills required.
