Responsibilities Lead the day‑to‑day operations of a large community of more than 175 units with up to two product lines or more than 120 units with three product lines. Responsible for the community’s associate relations, resident and resident family engagement and connection, financial performance, and regulatory compliance. Create and execute the business plan and develop the team to become the preferred senior living community in the market, while growing revenue and profitability in partnership with the district team. Work with sales to drive sales results. Create an inclusive community culture that provides high quality resident experiences and care and engages residents, families, and associates. Responsible for all operations within the community, interacting with staff and residents, prospects, or their family members, as necessary. Develop and implement business plan to become the highest performing senior living community in the local market; create, analyze, and execute annual operating and capital budgets and hold department leaders accountable for department budgets; manage community performance against goals and set plans to improve or maintain performance to company service and financial standards. Build and maintain strong working relationships with management team and encourage teamwork and collaboration; cultivate an inclusive community culture. Supervise, direct, and motivate community management while empowering department leaders to supervise, direct, and motivate staff; ensure department leaders proactively recognize and solve issues. Encourage and support department leaders to attract, develop, engage, and retain associates in accordance with company policies; oversee recruiting, onboarding, training, promotion, development, disciplinary actions, and termination decisions. Build a high degree of resident satisfaction and retention; maintain positive resident relations and be accessible and approachable to residents and their families. Leverage satisfied residents and families to grow community occupancy and execute renewal program. Partner with Resident Council as necessary. Administer resident satisfaction surveys and create a plan to address opportunities for improvement. For assisted living or memory care communities, create and maintain collaborative relationship with community clinical leaders to ensure care and services are appropriate. Oversee resident services including admission process, healthcare management, and documentation to ensure high quality services and compliance with company policy and applicable legal requirements. Demonstrate high degree of financial acumen; analyze, develop, and execute annual operating and capital budgets; work to meet or exceed budgeted revenue, profitability, and occupancy goals; proactively create plans to overcome unanticipated expenses or revenue shortfalls. Drive sales and marketing efforts in collaboration with community sales leader to meet or exceed occupancy or revenue targets. Identify local influencers and professionals to raise community profile; participate in social and civic affairs of the local community aligned with the company’s mission. Represent the community and the company to governmental agencies, professional organizations, community groups, and other public agencies. Work with maintenance and other department leaders to ensure buildings, grounds, and property meet company standards; oversee preventative maintenance systems and frequent inspections. Enforce current company policies and procedures; maintain applicable licenses in accordance with company, federal, state, and local requirements. Qualifications Education and Experience Bachelor’s Degree required. Minimum of five years of operational leadership experience required. Additional years of experience can be substituted for the education requirement on a year‑for‑year basis. Certifications, Licenses, and Other Special Requirements Must have a valid administrator license in states where required. Must have a valid driver’s license and access to a private vehicle for business use. Management/Decision Making Makes analytical decisions and is accountable for all actions made by a department or group. Uses a high degree of analytical ability and demonstrates sound judgment acquired through significant experience to solve complex and varied problems that could result in substantial loss of reputation. Knowledge and Skills Significant knowledge of an advanced discipline with a working knowledge of related fields; knowledge of the organization, work environment, and process. Ability to direct multiple functions and departments with full responsibility for operational results. Familiarity with Microsoft software preferred. Excellent written and oral communication skills; ability to prioritize and effectively manage multiple tasks. Proven success in driving results; ability to delegate assignments and oversee delegation appropriately. Strong problem‑solving, judgment, and decision‑making skills.
