Cross Country Education is seeking a School Services Special Education Teacher for a local contract job in Chicago, Illinois. Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Special Education Teacher Discipline: School Services Start Date: 08/03/2026 Duration: 42 weeks 40 hours per week Shift: 8 hours Employment Type: Local Contract Position Overview Manage and coordinate a large caseload of students receiving special education and 504 services, ensuring timely and compliant delivery of all required supports. Oversee IDEA compliance processes, including monitoring timelines, documentation accuracy, and adherence to state and federal special education regulations. Facilitate and participate in IEP and 504 meetings, collaborating with educators, families, and service providers to develop and implement student plans. Maintain accurate records, track student progress, and ensure all required compliance documentation is completed within mandated deadlines. Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree (Master’s preferred) Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with LBS1 endorsement (K-8) Prior experience in special education case management, including managing IEP and 504 caseloads (Required) Strong knowledge of IDEA regulations, compliance requirements, and special education documentation processes.
